Strategic Direction

CBC/Radio-Canada can no longer simply be a traditional English and French language television and radio broadcaster with a presence on the Internet and other new platforms. Over the next decade, Canada’s national public broadcaster will continue to evolve in an efficient and effective manner.

This means:

1.CBC/Radio-Canada will become a content company.

2.CBC/Radio-Canada will become the most important creator and distributor of Canadian content across all the major platforms of Canadians’ choice.

3.To ensure engagement with Canadians, CBC/Radio-Canada will find a way to remain deeply rooted in the regions, even as the budgets available to do that shrink.
