Proactive Disclosure

As one of Canada’s largest cultural institutions, CBC/Radio-Canada is made up of approximately 10,000 employees who live, work and deliver programming in all regions of the country. Our offices include production centres and journalistic offices in various communities across Canada, as well as 14 foreign bureaus.

CBC/Radio-Canada executives are actively involved in industry activities both domestically and overseas. They travel internationally to fulfill obligations as shareholders in international broadcasters, partners in various international broadcasting bodies and to uphold relations with foreign public broadcasters with whom CBC/Radio-Canada does business.

The rules and guiding principles governing business travel are outlined in CBC/Radio-Canada's Travel Management policy, while rules governing duty hospitality expenses are outlined in the Corporation's Duty Entertainment, Receptions and Staff Functions policy. These policies provide directives for the reimbursement of legitimate and reasonable expenses incurred during the conduct of CBC/Radio-Canada business. In addition, as part of its financial statement audit, the Auditor General of Canada, performs at least once every three years some specific procedures on these expenses. The expenses are reviewed on a sample basis and the results of the work performed is communicated to the Audit Commitee. Quarterly business travel and duty hospitality expenses will continue to be posted on this site.
