Policy 1.3.13: Alcoholic Beverage Advertising

EFFECTIVE: June 20, 2006 
RESPONSIBILITY: Media Vice-Presidents

Policy

Alcoholic beverage advertising is not accepted on CBC/Radio-Canada services where the programming or content is directed mainly at persons under the legal drinking age.

Advertising must not encourage the general consumption of alcohol but may promote brand preference.

Alcoholic beverage advertising must comply with the CRTC’s Code for Broadcast Advertising of Alcoholic Beverages.
