Peter D. Charbonneau

Peter D. Charbonneau was appointed to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada on December 22, 2008, for a five-year term.

Mr. Charbonneau is a general partner at Skypoint Capital Corporation, an early-stage technology venture capital firm. He also sits on the boards of Mitel Networks Corporation, March Networks Corporation (TSX:MN), BreconRidge Corporation, CounterPath Corporation (TSX-V:CCV), Teradici Corporation, Trellia Networks Inc., and TrueContext Corporation.

Prior to taking on his current position at Skypoint Capital Corporation, Mr. Charbonneau was an Executive Vice President of March Networks Corporation. Previously, he had spent 13 years at Newbridge Networks Corporation acting in numerous capacities, including Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, President and Chief Operating Officer, and Vice Chairman. Mr. Charbonneau served as a member of Newbridge’s Board of Directors, as well. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche as an accountant.

Mr. Charbonneau completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa (1975) and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario (1977). He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1979. Mr. Charbonneau also holds the ICD.D certification, having completed the Directors’ Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada.

In June 2003, Mr. Charbonneau was elected by the Council as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in recognition of his outstanding career achievements and leadership contributions to the community and to the profession.
