Videographer, Studio and Remote Productions, Media Operations and Technology
I'm a videographer for network programs, and work in either the studio or with remote productions. Right now, 90 per cent of what I do is for sports, specifically CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. I'm usually out there in the field with my truck, my lighting gear, a producer and of course my camera.
I started with CBC/Radio-Canada in Iqaluit and then moved to Toronto, and I've shot coast-to-coast-to-coast for the CBC/Radio-Canada. I've had the opportunity to work on great productions, and was nominated for a Gemini in the best photography category for my efforts on No Glory, a Sports Journal special. My camera has taken me places I never would have gone, and has given me the opportunity to express myself and share my images with the public. I can honestly say that the camera and this job feed my soul.
I find the Corporation very accepting. I'm fortunate to have found a place that is accepting of my talents and my personality, where I get to participate, contribute and express myself. When I have my camera on my shoulder and I'm about to shoot a game, it's like being part of history, it's beyond my dreams.
