CBC Radio One's Saskatoon Morning Is On The Air Delivering Local News, Weather, Traffic and Stories from Canada's Fastest Growing City Beginning Thursday, September 26 from 6:00 to 8:30am on 94.1FM

Sept. 23, 2013 - CBC Radio One's Saskatoon Morning will make its on-air debut on Thursday, September 26 from 6:00am to 8:30am on 94.1FM in Saskatoon. This decision follows the approval of the broadcast license provided by the CRTC earlier today.

Saskatoon Morning host Leisha Grebinski, online host Matt Kruchak and newsreader Dan Kerslake will provide Saskatonians with a fresh, new conversation on-air at 94.1FM and online at cbc.ca/Saskatoon each weekday with up-to-date local news, weather, traffic and community events.

"As a new morning radio show and digital service, Saskatoon Morning is unparalleled in the market," says John Agnew, managing director for CBC Saskatchewan. "We're providing Saskatoon audiences with a completely new experience to get the information they need to start their day and to talk about what matters to them."

Prior to joining CBC Radio One's Saskatoon Morning, Leisha co-hosted CBC Radio One's Daybreak in northern B.C., spent five years as an associate producer of CBC Radio One's The Morning Edition with host Sheila Coles in Regina and has produced stories and news for CBC Radio One's The Current, DNTO, Sounds Like Canada and C'est La Vie. Born and raised in Regina, Leisha is a graduate of the University of Regina's Journalism program where she was the recipient of the Ron Robbins International Journalism Scholarship.

CBC Radio One's The Morning Edition will continue to be broadcast on 102.5FM in Regina and 540AM across the province.

Saskatoon Morning is a part of CBC's local expansion strategy and is reflected in its five-year strategic plan, "Everyone, Every Way". Launched in February 2011, its goal is to better connect more than six million Canadians over the next four years, in areas which have been identified as underserviced.
