Roundtable discussion with college and university students from Halifax

November 24, 2011

During his visit to Halifax in September 2011, Hubert T. Lacroix, President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada, was invited to participate in a discussion with approximately 100 journalism students from the Radio and Television Arts program at the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), from the Journalism program at the University of King’s College as well as from the Public Relations program at Mount Saint Vincent.

The purpose of this event was to discuss the Corporation’s strategic plan, Everyone, Every way, and what it means for the future of CBC/Radio-Canada. Hubert T. Lacroix spent two hours answering questions about the national public broadcaster, the impact of social media and of their use of Facebook and Twitter, the evolution of new platforms, our funding model, and our relationship with government.

The discussion was filmed and edited by NSCC students under the guidance of a CBC/Radio-Canada production team. You can view a montage of excerpts of the discussion, below. (Length 6:28 minutes)
