Today, Radio-Canada is pleased to announce the four artists that it will guide throughout the year during the 2016-2017 season of RÉVÉLATIONS RADIO-CANADA. Starting now at ICIMusique.ca/revelations, audiences can discover these four outstanding talents: singer/songwriter Laurence Nerbonne (Songwriting), viola player Marina Thibeault (Classical), singer Ilam (World Music) and pianist Simon Denizart (Jazz).
“The Révélations program is an original Radio-Canada initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting up-and-coming Canadian musicians in all musical genres. We are extremely proud to present these four new Révélations and guide them on their professional career paths,” says Patricia Pleszczynska, Executive Director, Radio, Audio & Greater Montreal.
For nine years now, Radio-Canada has provided personalized, one-on-one support for an entire year to help them develop their careers and increase their exposure on all its platforms across Canada. This support includes the dedicated Révélations website on ICIMusique.ca, guidance and support from the hosts and curators of ICI Musique, a recording session at the Radio-Canada studios and a chance to perform a concert onstage at one of Radio-Canada’s partner music events.
“A year later, with an album under my belt that reflects my progress and my aspirations, I know that I fully benefited from every moment of this experience. And it couldn’t have happened without the fantastic work and ongoing support of the people from ICI Musique,” says Samito, the 2015-2016 world music Révélation.
Being a Révélation Radio-Canada brings “. . . not only major visibility and ongoing career follow-up, but also great support for my related artistic projects, and the pressure was very stimulating to me,” says Philippe Brach, the 2015-2016 songwriting Révélation. Keep in mind that since its inception in 2008, the RÉVÉLATIONS RADIO-CANADA program has helped 42 artists launch their careers, including Cœur de pirate, Radio Radio, Samian, Jan Lisiecki, Marie-Pierre Arthur, Émie R Roussel, Stéphane Tétreault, Karim Ouellet, Lisa LeBlanc, Les sœurs Boulay, Rafael Zalvidar, Charles-Richard Hamelin and Guillaume Martineau, to name just a few.
