CBC/Radio-Canada joins other North American digital publishers in partnership with Facebook

July 15, 2016

CBC/Radio-Canada is proud to join other North American digital publishers in partnership with Facebook as they look to evolve their Facebook Live product.

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we are constantly exploring new approaches to digital storytelling, and this partnership helps position us as a key Canadian contributor in the early stages of development of this product. We have already had great success with Facebook Live, and we’ll continue to experiment with this and other digital tools as we create real-time, interactive content experiences for our audiences on a multitude of platforms.

Our commitment to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices is unwavering and in no way affected by this partnership. We continue to make editorial decisions based on the stories we cover and the audiences we serve. To be clear, Facebook has absolutely no oversight into the content we choose to broadcast and stories we feature on Facebook Live.
