#PBI2016: Connecting the Digital Generation to Public Broadcasting

CBC/Radio-Canada to host over 60 broadcasters in Montreal from September 14 to 16 for the 2016 Public Broadcasters International conference

CBC/Radio-Canada is proud to host over 60 public broadcasters in Montreal for the annual Public Broadcasters International (PBI) conference, which returns to Canada for the first time since its launch 25 years ago.

In each country, public broadcasters have been finding ways to transform how they serve their citizens in the digital age. We are stronger when we share and build on what we have learned. In that vein, this year’s conference has the theme:

The NEXT Future: Connecting the Digital Generation to Public Broadcasting

Key to that future is engaging the creators of tomorrow. That is why the meeting’s focus on connecting the digital generation to public broadcasting is so important.

The PBI Conference is a great opportunity to learn from each other and to work together to strengthen the collective value of what we offer the world. Public broadcasting is more important than ever. It builds social cohesion by informing people about their country and their world; it supports tolerance, diversity, and democracy.

We look forward to hearing and sharing new ideas about what public broadcasting can do.
