CBC/Radio-Canada’s Broadcasting Licences Renewed until August 31, 2011
Ottawa, August 10, 2010 – The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) announced the administrative renewals of CBC/Radio-Canada's broadcasting licences until August 31, 2011, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.
The renewal covers CBC/Radio-Canada's radio and television network licences (English and French television networks, Radio One and Radio Two, Premiere Chaine and Espace Musique), specialty programming licences (bold, CBCNN, RDI, ARTV and documentary), pay audio programming licence (Galaxie) and transitional digital television and radio undertakings. On July 11, 2010, the CRTC announced that it would proceed with a public hearing to consider renewal applications for these services in late Fall 2011.
