We implemented recycling programs in 24 of our 27 owned buildings, enabling us to increase our diversion rate by 6.1 percent, from 63.5 to 69.6 percent.
We recovered and safely disposed of a total of 103 150 kilograms of electronic waste, 20 500 kilograms of batteries and 4 114 litres of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
Nearly 90 percent of the total surface area of the buildings we manage is certified by BOMA Building Environmental Standards (BESt). A total of 95 percent of our employees work in these buildings.
A total of 247 employees received training in fields such as mould management and ozone depleting substances (e.g., halocarbons).
We pursued prevention activities in a number of fields: storage tank management, risk of contamination on our properties, facility compliance with applicable regulations, indoor air quality, potable water quality, asbestos and species at risk.
We conducted campaigns aimed at employees and at the Canadian public: Earth Hour, Earth Day, Bike to Work Week, Canadian Environment Week and National Waste Reduction Week.
