The CBC/Radio-Canada 2013-2014 Annual Report chronicles our Canadian content, regional advances and digital enhancements.
In particular, the Annual Report highlights our success in Sochi 2014, with approximately 97 per cent of all Canadians tuning in to our coverage, which was cost-effective, cutting-edge and the envy of broadcasters around the world. We were financially pragmatic and successfully leveraged technology and key partnerships.
We’re going to keep doing things differently - like we did in Sochi. We know we have to, because despite these successes, CBC/Radio-Canada is facing significant financial challenges.
The reality is, the public broadcaster is currently not sustainable. That’s why in June of this year we launch a new strategy to modernize CBC/Radio-Canada and create the flexibility and scalability needed to invest in our future and meet the changing needs of Canadians in 2020 and beyond.
In that context, please explore this snapshot of our
2013-2014 fiscal year.
