CBC/Radio-Canada

President’s Message

This year, CBC/Radio-Canada is celebrating 75 years of national public broadcasting. For 75 years, we’ve been informing, enlightening and entertaining Canadians, while supporting and promoting our home-grown culture.

Since November 2, 1936, when the national broadcaster was created, the media landscape has seen many changes. But throughout, we’ve being leading the way through innovation to best serve Canadians. Our strategic plan Everyone, Every way will help us continue to do just that and to improve on our results. We are determined to continue pushing forward.

We take the environment into account in our radio-, television- and Internet-based activities. The environment is everyone’s business — yours, mine, our children’s. That’s why we remain accountable to Canadians regarding our environmental standards and practices. We consider the environment in our decisions and are making improvements every step of the way.

I encourage you to read through the 2010–2011 Environmental Performance Report to see what we’ve accomplished and where there is still room for improvement.
